Capture, polish, edit and export in one native Mac app. Recording and editing are free and never gated. Free exports are watermarked and stop at 2 minutes; a one-time licence lifts both.
Capture
Press a shortcut and do the thing. Nothing of ours ends up in frame.
Screen, window, or area
Record a whole display, one window from a live thumbnail picker, or any region you draw.
Floating recorder bar
A frameless bar that hovers over the app you are demoing. It stays out of frame, and ⌘⇧R starts a take from anywhere.
Microphone and system audio
Record your voice from any microphone, or capture the sound the Mac is playing.
Countdown, pause, and marks
A countdown so the pointer is not on Record in frame one. Pause without breaking the timeline, and drop chapter marks with a key.
Polish
The editor already did the work. You approve instead of build.
Auto-zoom from your clicks
Every click becomes an eased zoom toward what you pressed. Nearby clicks merge into one, so three clicks is one move, not three.
Smooth cursor
A spring camera and path smoothing remove hand jitter, so the pointer glides instead of twitching.
Backgrounds and framing
Colour, gradient, or image backgrounds with padding, corner radius, and shadow. The polished look, in one panel.
Cursor and click styling
Resize the cursor and add a click highlight so viewers never lose track of where you are.
Edit
Enough editor to finish a demo, not a film suite to learn.
Trim, split, and cut
A timeline editor with frame-accurate scrubbing. Trim the ends, split a clip, delete a range.
Editable zoom blocks
Each zoom is a block on the timeline. Move it, stretch it, retarget it, or change how far it zooms.
Text, images, and video layers
Add titles, logos, and picture-in-picture video on their own lanes, with a chroma key for green-screen clips.
Speed ramps and music
Speed a clip up or slow it down with its audio kept at pitch, and lay music underneath with volume and fades.
Export
A file on your disk, encoded by the Mac's own hardware.
Hardware-accelerated export
MP4 or MOV, H.264 through Apple's VideoToolbox encoder, up to 4K at 60 fps, with presets for 1080p and 720p.
Crop for every platform
Drag handles or pick a shape: 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 4:5 and 9:16. The export follows the crop.
Clean, full-length export
Free exports carry a small "Made with Glidesmith" mark and stop at 2 minutes. A licence exports the whole take, with no mark.
GIF with a size estimate
See the file size before you commit, so a docs GIF never turns out to be 40 MB.
Built in, not bolted on
These are design decisions, not settings. They hold for every feature above.

The AI cutting tools we looked at process your recording on a server. Ours will transcribe and cut on-device, so the promise above still holds. A licence includes these updates as they ship.
